SushiArt will be holding seasonal bento classes to celebrate each season by using vegetables, fish and fruits that are readily available during this time, starting with springtime! Sushi is very flexible and you will learn how to incorporate many different types of seasonal ingredients into what you make.
Please choose your favourite bento type and let us know if you have any dietary needs as we can accommodate for all. The focus of these classes will be to make a beautiful bento and explore spring colours, presentation and tastes.
Whether you opt for the ‘Hana Bento’ or the ‘Bumblebee Bento’, you will learn how to make ‘kazarimaki’ (decorative sushi), which is a more advanced form of futomaki (large sushi rolls) but we will guide you step by step so that your bento is beautifully presented.
You will also make temari sushi and carve vegetables so that they resemble flowers or butterflies. A large range of nuts, seeds and rice seasonings will be at your disposal so that you can make your mark on your bento! We will provide small decorative soy sauce holders and other bento accessories for you to take away.
